Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Man with Van Wimbledon is committed to conducting all aspects of its business in an ethical and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our operations and supply chains.

We recognise that the removals and logistics sector can be exposed to risks related to labour exploitation, particularly in temporary, seasonal, and subcontracted work. We are dedicated to identifying, preventing, and addressing these risks through robust policies, due diligence, and continuous improvement.

Our Zero-Tolerance Policy

Man with Van Wimbledon has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not tolerate exploitation of any kind, whether within our own operations or in the practices of those with whom we do business.

All employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers are expected to adhere to our standards, which include fair pay, safe working conditions, and respect for human rights. Any breach of these standards is treated as a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, or referral to the appropriate authorities.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Man with Van Wimbledon provides moving and transport services, including local and regional removals for residential and commercial customers. Our supply chain primarily consists of vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and subcontracted transport and labour providers where necessary.

We recognise that risks may arise where labour is sourced through third parties or subcontractors. Accordingly, we place particular emphasis on controls and oversight in these areas.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to uphold ethical labour practices and comply with applicable employment, health and safety, and human rights laws. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing relationship management, we:

Communicate our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery and require suppliers to confirm their own compliance with relevant legislation and standards. Assess suppliers based on their location, type of services, and use of subcontracted or temporary labour to identify higher-risk relationships. Reserve the right to conduct audits or request evidence of labour practices, including proof of right to work, wage and working hours records, and health and safety arrangements.

Where concerns are identified, we will work with suppliers to address them through corrective action plans. If meaningful improvements are not made within an agreed timeframe, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

We encourage a culture of transparency and open communication. All workers, suppliers, and customers are encouraged to raise concerns about potential modern slavery or unethical practices without fear of retaliation.

Concerns can be reported directly to line managers or senior management within Man with Van Wimbledon. Reports may be made anonymously if preferred, and all concerns will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and handled sensitively. Where appropriate, we will cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory bodies.

We clearly communicate these reporting channels to our staff and reiterate that victimisation of any person who raises a concern is strictly prohibited.

Training and Awareness

We aim to build awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, supplier management, and operations. Training and guidance focus on recognising warning signs of exploitation, understanding our policies, and knowing how to escalate concerns appropriately.

We periodically review our training content to reflect emerging risks, legislative changes, and lessons learned from any incidents or near-misses.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

Man with Van Wimbledon is committed to continually improving its approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. We monitor the effectiveness of our actions through supplier feedback, internal reporting, and any investigations into alleged misconduct.

This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by our management team to ensure that it remains relevant, effective, and aligned with best practice and legal requirements. Where necessary, we update our procedures, contractual terms, and training materials to strengthen our controls.

This statement reflects the position of Man with Van Wimbledon for the current financial year and has been approved by the company’s management, who are responsible for its implementation across the business.
